Following on from last month’s focus, Ubuntu – I am because you are – The Excellence Group celebrates the sensational projects our companies are worked on in 2020… With some of the most inspiring professionals in the business!
Even with the unprecedented year that 2020 was, all 5 of our companies (Valcucine, Infin8 Surfacing, Craft Furniture, Eurocasa & Spotlight Joinery) continue to provide turnkey solutions to our clients in offering a variety of high-quality joinery, furniture and other bespoke interior solutions.
The Excellence Group outlines some of our favourite projects of 2020, as well as exciting projects on the go for 2021. We are working with some incredible architects, interior designers, builders and other industry professionals. It really is remarkable just how interconnected the property industry is.
Valcucine
A favourite for Valcucine was a renovation took place in an apartment suite in Bantry Bay. We partnered with KAA architects and Di Morris Interior Design for this project – the Forma Mentis kitchen design was simple yet sophisticated to optimise the avaliable space. There is a pure and oceanic feel to the kitchen, while all elements work in perfect harmony with one another.
Finishes used: Cloud white matt glass finish on unit fronts with aluminium grips. Glass wall panelling in Graphic Vitrum sea breeze white and Neolith countertops.
Infin8 Surfacing
Infin8 Surfacing created 283 vanity units for the new Hotel Sky in the Cape Town CBD, which is being designed by Vivid Architects and built by WBHO Contractors. Ram Shopfitters requested these vanities for 9 floors of Hotel Sky, with each floor having an average of 32 rooms. There were 24 different vanity designs within the 283 we had to produce. 12mm Avonite solid surfacing (supplied by Max On Top) was used for the fabrication of these vanities.
This project was highly complex as we had to fabricate the solid surfacing vanities floor by floor. For each floor, there was a ‘random’ combination of the 24 vanity designs due to differences in room specifications. Our investment in machinery and purpose-built factory was put to the test. Infin8 Surfacing’s in-house processes, machinery and teamwork played a huge role in making this project a success.
Craft Furniture
Craft Furniture was tasked with a screen and 3 desks for a reception area for a project in the Cape Town Foreshore. We worked closely with G&H construction to create statement wooden furniture for this commercial space.
The screen was completed in Sapele Mahogany with a matching veneer. The desk was cladded in high gloss Melawood complimented with Caesarstone tops. While the plinths were finished in a brass cladding to add a subtle yet daring element to the design.
Eurocasa
Eurocasa Cape Town worked closely with Arnold Meiring in a new house in the heart of Camps Bay. The kitchen is a minimalist style HT50 model with Neolith countertops. The floating cabinets are an Olmo Grigio wood veneer finished with a Caesarstone Linen countertop.
Granite Projects also manufactured and installed a matching prep in Neolith on the island that we complimented with a Tigre Bronze mixer & waste kit. Eurocasa also worked closely with Craft Furniture, to match the wooden slats with the veneer doors of the floating units from Italy. The balance of textures through the different materials make this project unique, a true example of sophistication.
Spotlight Joinery
Nestled in the heart of Constantia, we completed this project with ANK Construction. There were two separate houses on this property and our client wanted the two projects to have a similar look and feel but not be the same kitchen.
After a brief review of the space, Spotlight Joinery was tasked with a dual island layout to allow for unfettered access and flow through the space. We used a classic combination of dark stained oak accents and soft grey Satin Duco finishes.
This review of The Excellence Group’s 2020 projects instils excitement into our team for 2021! We are grateful for the opportunities that are presented to us, as well as the passionate people that we get to work with on a daily basis.
Here’s to 2021 – may it be filled with innovation, creation and collaboration!
