Set in the heart of Kerzner Estate, our latest project takes advantage of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean vistas. Located on the slopes of the Klein-Leeukop Mountain in Hout Bay, this project was unique in many ways. We had two of our companies work together to create a sophisticated Hout Bay home. Eurocasa installed a custom Italian kitchen.
Eurocasa was approached by Lauren Bolus from Make Architects with a brief to create a kitchen that would act as a statement piece and talking point in the home. As we know, kitchens sell houses and that is no exception with this one. The primary objective of this project was to create a kitchen that would make potential buyers fall in love with the home over the other houses available on the estate. While showing her all of our Eurocasa kitchens, she was immediately drawn to the minimalism of the HT50. This composition allows for a variety of configurations including linking the island blocks with a large snack table, which allowed us to take the design a step further.
Read MoreThe final kitchen design included a monolithic marble frame that outlines the main island. The Arabescato Carrara marble creates a sculptural addition to the kitchen which we allowed to be the hero of the space. We achieved this cleverly by choosing a simple white matt lacquer on the rest of the units. To further hero the marble centrepiece, we included LED lighting to the base of the centre island to illuminate the entire unit. We mirrored the LED lighting below all of the wall units and onto the back run. This aids in creating a warm and inviting ambience to the space.
