As a continuation from last month’s focus, Ubuntu – I am because you are – The Excellence Group looks forward to almost-complete projects that our companies are currently working on… With some of the most inspiring professionals in the business!
Valcucine
Valcucine is currently working with Shirley Wayne Architect on a show-stopping project in Llandudno. This Genuis Loci Kitchen combines the beauty pertaining to the textures and aesthetics of natural materials. It boasts the Logica Celata system and recess pocket doors as special features, both having the power to transform the space with a single movement.
Finishes used: Matt black glass on all unit fronts, walnut wood finish on breakfast bar and internal sides. Calacatta marble in celata for countertop and Nero Assoluto Granite for island. Brass on Genius Loci island drawers.
Infin8 Surfacing
Our newly introduced material, high-pressure compact laminates, will be used in a gymnasium in Johannesburg. Infin8 Surfacing will be producing the shower dividers for the male and female bathrooms. We are working closely with SNA Architects, who are based in Johannesburg. All materials and components will be fabricated in Cape Town before delivery. Our expert fabricators will complete the installation on site.
This project will use Carbon compact laminates (supplied by Salvocorp) in a matte black finish. This material is fit for purpose in moist and harsh environments. Infin8 Surfacing is providing specialised aluminium support structures that house the material in a durable yet aesthetically pleasing system. We are recessing the compact laminates to show a subtle pattern for further visual appeal.
Craft Furniture
This is an exciting project that we are working on closely with OKHA. Craft Furniture has been tasked with various bespoke furniture pieces while Spotlight Joinery is working on some of the kitchen requirements. There are various elements to this project for Craft Furniture such as extensive wall cladding, cabinetry, moveable panels and various furniture pieces to name a few.
OKHA provided the design inspiration and technical drawings, which assists us managing the manufacturing process. Due to the project needing a combination of veneers and solids, the factory process was fairly complex. We also had to ensure that all the colours of the different elements matched to the desired Walnut finish. This project was extremely special as we worked with Infin8 Surfacing and Spotlight Joinery too – The Excellence Group at its best!
Eurocasa
Partnering with Make Architects, Eurocasa designed a statement kitchen while using natural colour palettes. We used arabescato marble as the hero of the design. This kitchen includes both our HT50 and HD23 kitchen models in a matt lacquer (bianco puro and grigo etna finishes).
The natural light from the large windows combined with the lighter tones of the finishes, makes this kitchen a statement feature of this home.
Spotlight Joinery
This home is situated in Medburn Road in Camps Bay, designed by Darryl Croome Architects. A balanced combination of oak veneer, sophisticated greys, charcoal framed Vogue doors with smokey glass in their high-quality kitchen. The main features are the striking engineered stone monolithic island and brass inlays that create this sophisticated kitchen.
Another incredible joinery element of this Camps Bay home is the main walk-in wardrobe. It was designed with a boutique aesthetic in mind, using a combination of floating drawer sets, oak veneer, charcoal hanging rails and soft LED lighting to accentuate the open display.
This snippet of The Excellence Group’s current operations instils excitement into our team! We are grateful for the opportunities that are presented to us, as well as the passionate people that we get to work with on a daily basis.
Here’s to 2021 – may it be filled with innovation, creation and collaboration!
