Welgedacht is an established estate, centrally located in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town with wide open spaces and a country feel. Welgedacht Estate offers secure living and a tranquil environment with parks, dams and open spaces for walking and enjoying the outdoors. The estate’s central location offers many recreational opportunities for cycling, walking and enjoying the Durbanville countryside.
Three of our companies completed a project that is set in the heart of the estate. The beautifully landscaped neighbourhood is the perfect location for families that are looking for high-end homes that are secure and centrally located. The brief for this project was to create a space where the family can come together. Their current bar set up was not being used to its full potential and Eurocasa was tasked to elevate the existing space through clever design and space optimisation.
Eurocasa selected a neutral colour palette for the bar and used the Sand collection to achieve the desired look and feel. However, Eurocasa is known for its Italian flair and the subtle use of that flair elevated this bar from ordinary to extraordinary. This was achieved through the mixture of different textures and finishes such as metal, stone and timber.
The design boasted tall Stopsol glass units with floating glass shelves. The tall glass units gave a slight reflection of the rest of the room, which added to the charm of the space. The floating glass shelves allowed for a colourful display of different liqueurs and bottles. This was further emphasised by strategically placed LED lighting which created a luxurious ambience.
The joinery itself made use of Grigio Seta matt lacquer for the fronts accompanied by white veined stone tops and backsplashes from Caeserstone called White Attica. To add a bit of warmth to the neutral palette, we added an oversized timber bar table with a magnificent marble inlay. Craft Furniture took the lead on creating the oversized table and were able to manage the installation and sourcing of the other materials related to the bar table such as the steel leg and marble inlay.
Infin8 Surfacing added to the ‘hidden’ wash up area in the bar by creating a custom sink that fits perfectly into the space between the nook and column joinery. The possibilities are endless with Infin8 Surfacing as they can form and mould the material into any shape or size, without any join lines! Solid Surfacing was the perfect choice for this project’s basin.
